Language Requirements
All courses at the Broos Institute are delivered in English, but we welcome multilingualism and cultural expression.
Applicants whose primary language is not English must submit proof of proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent). We offer language bridging programs and academic writing support for students who need additional preparation.
Language should never be a barrier to learning rooted in cultural truth and justice.

The Broos Institute proudly welcomes students from across Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the wider diaspora.
- Pre-arrival webinars
- Mentorship pairings with current students
- Help with housing, health insurance, and legal services

We understand that moving across borders is more than logistics — it’s a journey of identity, healing, and solidarity.
Living in Amsterdam / Ghana
Our campuses in Amsterdam and Ghana offer vibrant, diverse, and deeply historical learning environments.
Amsterdam offers access to major archives, diaspora networks, and activist movements, while Ghana grounds you in ancestral knowledge, cultural heritage, and Pan-African practice.
We help students find housing, understand cost of living, navigate transport systems, and connect with local communities and mutual aid networks.
